Resources for Educators:

Teachers participating in the Ocean Science Explorers school-based educational initiative receive a curriculum-based professional development workshop; a thematic unit containing over 25 standards-based language arts, science, social studies, and math lessons linked to the hands-on science activities; and a lending library or science kit to implement thematic unit lessons.

All curricula used in Ocean Science Explorers has been rigorously reviewed and edited by both scientists on our Scientific Advisory Board and educators on our Education & Youth Development Advisory Board. These experts work to ensure that the Ocean Discovery Institute continues achieving its mission and vision through providing authentic science lessons of the highest quality.
